Description : Hidden Valley Tourism Association provides tourism information about the area (Hidden Valley). The Hidden Valley lies 40kms east of Mooi River in the drier warmer thorn veld region of KZN. In summer hot but with much lower humidity levels than the coast and in winter cold at night but only light frost is sometimes experienced. The rainfall is expected in the form of spectacular storms with late evening sunshine to follow offering great photographic lighting. Our cloud formations are well documented. Hidden Valley is malaria free, offers abundant of wild and bird life sightings due to the diverse habitat from riverine forest to open grass veld. The valley lies along the Mpofana River with the majestic 82m Mooi River Falls situated in the Zulu Falls Game Park. Accommodation is offered in 4 venues varying from beautiful campsites on the river at EDWALENI and SOUTHERN CROSS, to farmhouses with 8-16 beds at THE RAPIDS to a fully equipped bush lodge - ZULU FALLS GAME LODGE (conferences of up to 20 delegates are held). Activities offered: River tubing, 4x4 trails, visits to yesteryear Zulu villages, game viewing (aardwolf to zebra) birding (the best nestling site of the endangered BALD IBIS which we adopted as our emblem) Yellow fishing on fly or bass in the river, abseiling down into the gorge bush craft courses and hunting in winter and music festivals (the famous Southern Cross Festival has been held 31 December every year with Flux Festival in March.) Superb hiking through the game reserve and surrounding valley alone or with an experienced guide. The possibilities are endless and we are here to make your stay our pleasure. The HIDDEN VALLEY is rustic and one of the few untamed areas left in our country and we plan to keep it that way but would love to share it with you.
