Churches

Byrne Church
The earlier building was erected between 1854 and 1856 by immigrant settlers to the Byrne valley, and made out of yellowwood timber. In 1924 it was replaced by the present St Mary Magdalene church, while a stone cairn shows the site of the first church.

St Mary Magdalene Church
The present building replaced the original yellow wood church, and the church yard with its weathered tombstones is a peaceful resting place for many settlers and their families.
